ABOUT KissSafe®
In Dec. 2005, I was in Miami FL. care- taking for a friend who was suffering with metastasized cancer that had originally presented in the oral cavity. Naturally curious (as a documentary filmmaker, not so much a snoop), I hunted for more information about the disease, specific to its origins. At the time, most of the conventional wisdom pointed toward tobacco and drug abuse as the primary causes in this kind of cancer. Since my friend was a non-user of either, I researched the issue first through the Internet and then went on to interview a couple of leading oncologists at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center/ University of Miami Hospitals, and M.D Anderson in Houston Texas.
I learned that originating in 1997, research originating from the University of Ohio State and authored by Dr. Maura Gillison, first identified the link between HPV and oral cancer. Strong evidence of a relationship in causality between the HPV virus and oral cancer, was now on the medical map.
However, HPV is not the only hostile microbe that can be transmitted via kissin- kissing is the portal to the body. There is significant scientific information from the CDC, peer reviewed journals and numerous news outlets that warn of the dangers of oral transmissions from the microbes as complex as HPV or STI bacteria like oral gonococcal or as common as household viruses and colds.
I thought it was pretty was clear that a breath spray containing anti-microbial ingredients would be the perfect product to meet the clear and present challenges of intimacy and inter-personal oral hygiene.
A breath spray would blanket the oral cavity for a measured period of time (“efficiency duration”) and serve as a target delivery system enabling the active anti-microbial ingredients in KissSafe® to be effective.
I spent a few years in a lab basically being humiliated and then got extremely lucky meeting George, a guy who knew stuff. He had us in the right lab within a month and closing in on a prototype just a few months after that. My team continues to work on related products and now have a half dozen in the pipeline and market bound. KissSafe® is available on Amazon, KissSafe.com (click the pic) and soon a bunch of retail stores in The US and Europe. I am incredibly grateful to have been able to get this product to market, and hope that it adds value to each and every user.
Cheers!
